Arcam's long history of hifi manufacture has earned them a reputation for producing solidly built and superb sounding separates. The CD17 from their FMJ range is no exception.

Despite its relatively entry-level price tag, the CD17 delivers a fantastically insightful soundstage with excellent stereo imaging. The robust, anti-resonant aluminium and steel casework provides a perfect platform for the large toroidal power transformer, the high-spec Wolfson 8741 Digital to Analogue Converters (DACs), extremely accurate digital clock and other audiophile-grade components. There are also separate, individually regulated power supplies to the digital, analogue and servo sections for extremely stable power with minimum noise. 

Output is from twin analogue stereo line outs - ideal for multi-room use, or either coaxial or optical digital outputs. All RCA/phono outputs are gold plated for the best possible contact and durability. 

All this results in a superbly rich, detailed and hugely enjoyable sound that will make you want to enjoy your CD collection again and again
